Boyd Chan

My name is Boyd and I’m a Service Management Specialist with a knack for operational data gathering, transformation, analysis and reporting. In 2012, I obtained my Masters of Science in Information Technology through the University of New South Wales @ The Australia Defence Force Academy (UNSW@ADFA). I was also part of an online community known as the Panasonic Insider Crew in the capacity of “Insider Guru” for Panasonic Australia where I interacted with other tech enthusiasts and find out more about Panasonic's latest gadgets. I love technology, gadgets, and the Internet and maintain a keen interest in these areas locally, nationally, and globally. I hope by sharing my views on these topics that people will receive an honest point of view from someone with a genuine interest in these topics. I have also written and edited articles for Neowin - you can check out my articles over @ https://www.neowin.net/news/poster/boyd_chan I hope you enjoy reading my blog!

XBMC for Raspberry Pi

For the first time since last Monday, I’ve had a chance to start tinkering with the Raspberry Pi. I had to borrow an SD card from one of my cameras but will buy another one to sit permanently in the RPi. I did burn one of the suggested Linux distributions to the SD card just …

Flash and its Numbered Days on Android

One of the long touted abilities of Android was its support of Flash within the unnamed web browser that was bundled with the operating system. This seemed to be a key selling point in contrast to iOS devices which have steadfastly refused to support it over the years. However, the haven provided by Android now …

“Unable to Switch Calls” on Android

On my Android phones, I seemed to have an issue when I would be on the phone and a second call would arrive triggering the call waiting notification. However, when I wanted to put my first call on hold and answer the second call I would get the following message on my phone: “Unable to …

Quickly Change Tabs in Chrome Beta for Android

There is one thing that bugs me about the way tabs are managed in Safari on iPhone and iPad and it’s the way that you have to go through a menu to get to the tab you want. From a usability perspective, you need to stop what you are doing, work out where you want …
