Boyd Chan

My name is Boyd and I’m a Service Management Specialist with a knack for operational data gathering, transformation, analysis and reporting. In 2012, I obtained my Masters of Science in Information Technology through the University of New South Wales @ The Australia Defence Force Academy (UNSW@ADFA). I was also part of an online community known as the Panasonic Insider Crew in the capacity of “Insider Guru” for Panasonic Australia where I interacted with other tech enthusiasts and find out more about Panasonic's latest gadgets. I love technology, gadgets, and the Internet and maintain a keen interest in these areas locally, nationally, and globally. I hope by sharing my views on these topics that people will receive an honest point of view from someone with a genuine interest in these topics. I have also written and edited articles for Neowin - you can check out my articles over @ https://www.neowin.net/news/poster/boyd_chan I hope you enjoy reading my blog!

Recording Gameplay Automatically on nVidia Cards

Lately, I’ve been thinking about recording some of my gameplay to upload to YouTube either for strategy hints or just to share some of the hilarious or insanely lucky stuff that can happen during online multiplayer matches. There are some solutions such as FRAPS that will do it but I have found it a little …

Keeping Track of Unfinished Business in The Legend of Zelda – A Link to the past

Here’s a quick tip that I’ve picked up whilst playing the latest Zelda game on 3DS. A major gripe that I’ve had in prior games is the inability to mark the map when you come across stuff that seems important but you have insufficient means to interact with it. You may need an essential item, …

I have been on a bit of a game purchasing fest recently and I had the opportunity to buy a digital copy (as opposed to a physical copy) of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for AU$45 which seemed to be a good deal given that the RRP for physical copies is around …

Fix Skyrim Crashing During First Cutscene

I know, I am late getting to Skyrim but when I saw it on a recent Steam sale for 75% off I figured I should just pull the trigger and buy it. Anyway, annoyingly when I have attempted to play the game I have been unable to make it past the introductory scene where you …

Incoming Gadget – Toyota Prius C

Well, this isn’t exactly my gadget but I am going to make the best of it anyway 🙂 My wife is getting a new car to replace her Ford Festiva and given that we’ve had a good run with the Toyota Prius we thought we would go for the compact Prius C as the backup …

The Verdict on Internet Explorer 11

As I wrote about earlier in the month, I thought I would give Internet Explorer 11 a go as my primary browser for the rest of the month. I was keen to see how well it would work given its compliance to most of the recent web standards and improved performance over prior versions and …
