Another Milestone – One Thousand Articles and Counting

It’s been a big week and a big year for the blog.

Not too long ago the blog racked up 1000,000 visits and well over 100,000 pageviews in the process which was quite pleasing for something that started out as a way to keep me in the rhythm of writing in between university semesters and take the edge off what seemed to be daunting five thousand word essays (which now don’t seem to be terribly huge). I have to say that it has worked rather well and if anyone else finds themselves in the same situation that a regularly updated blog might be the ticket to help keep the ball rolling.

Writing a daily blog can be a challenge and there have been many times where I have stared at a blank page just waiting for an idea to share. Conversely, there have been times when I have had more than enough concepts to share but limited time to write them all up. This perhaps might be less of a problem for blogs updated a few times a week or once a week but if you are tackling more complex and involved topics in lieu of more frequent posts then you still need to be careful not to let time get away from you.

I’ve also been very fortunate to get my hands on a truckload of gadgets including:

  • smartphones (iPhones, Samsung Galaxy Ss),
  • tablets (the first iPad and soon Microsoft’s first Windows RT tablet),
  • cameras,
  • the Raspberry Pi,
  • gaming consoles (the PS3 Slim, Nintendo 3DS & 3DS XL),
  • home entertainment gear (including a Panasonic Viera 3D plasma television, 3D Blu-ray player and 3D Blu-ray home entertainment system),
  • e-readers (the Amazon Kindle & Kindle DX).

Given that I finished my studies yesterday by handing in the last of my deliverables for my degree one might think this might be an opportune time to wind things up on on thousand articles. Well, I certainly won’t be doing that and will continue to write everyday for the foreseeable future – besides, it will keep me out of trouble and playing too many practical jokes on people 🙂

So, stay tuned for more blogs!
