Panasonic Lumix FT3 Preview

This has been long overdue particularly given that the FT4 is now out but there is quite a bit of overlap between the FT3 and FT4 that I thought it was still worthwhile doing a preview.

The body and button layout of the FT3 is practically identical to the FT4 except for the following:

  • The FT4 is 1mm wider than the FT3,
  • The FT4 now packs in the ability to perform automatic panorama shots either vertically or horizontally,
  • The FT4 sports a slightly larger image sensor,
  • The FT4 also supports time lapse photography (including a time delay).

You still get all the great benefits of a camera waterproof to a depth of twelve metres, freeze proof to ten degrees below zero, drop proof from up to two metres, built-in GPS, compass, altimeter and barometer. In addition to all of that, this camera does take some very good shots thanks to the Leica DC lens and you can capture videos in Full HD and 3D photos if you fancy.

Anyway, I’ve done my usual preview video which can be found below:

FYI – the video is available in up to 1080p if you right click on the video and choose “Watch on YouTube” and change the resolution setting.

Also, here are some shots from the FT3:
