Here’s another tidbit of information about Mac OS X Lion. If you are unaware, the “About This Mac” screen has been refreshed to be a bit more user friendly compared to versions of Mac OS X prior to Lion
First up is the “Overview” screen which looks a bit cleaner and even includes a picture of your Mac. Otherwise, the information available remains fairly similar.
Under the “Displays” tab you can expect to find information about your screens and their resolutions along with basic information about your video card specifications.
Next up is the “Storage” tab which will give you some graphical information about the internal drives and an “iTunes-esque” view of the high level data occupying your system drives. Another handy piece of information that is provided are the types of compatible optical disc that will work with the SuperDrive.
Finally, we come to the “Memory” tab which not only shows you the total amount of RAM installed in the computer but how many slots are available inside the computer as well as the speed, type and capacity of the installed RAM. You even get a link to instructions on how to upgrade the memory in your particular computer.
Looks like Apple has been paying some more attention to detail for the benefit users that don’t tinker with computers for fun or for a living.
