After recently ordering a number of items which will be couriered, I have found myself having to login to various websites to try and keep track of what is going on. Sure, I can get e-mail notifications but in most cases but I’d have to sign up for the notifications for each and every package.
Anyway, the missus was home crook today and on her travels across the interwebs, she came across a service called Junecloud. Basically, it will keep track of your packages from start to finish and all you need to do it specify the courier service being used as well as the tracking number. In other cases (like the Apple store) you also need to supply other credentials like an e-mail address.
Once you have signed up (which is free), you can add and check on your deliveries online at Junecloud. It’s very simple and straightforward to use. You can also download a MacOS X widget or an app for your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch (which costs AU$5.99).
Tapping on any of the items will allow you view the details of the order including the tracking number, the last waypoint and scheduled delivery date if available. You can then view the order at the courier’s website, view the location of package in Google Maps or share the details with a friend via e-mail.
I love its simplicity and the fact that it saves me reading e-mail and trawling various websites to keep track of our deliveries.
If you want to check the list of supported couriers, check out the Junecloud website. New couriers are being added progressively so I reckon this is a service definitely keeping on your radar if you frequently use courier services.
