Perhaps a first for the blog but the unboxing videos keep on rolling this time with the Ouya being the next cab off the rank!
For those that don’t know, Ouya is an Android console aimed at the lower price range (being around $100) and took about a year to come to fruition after its initial Kickstarter campaign. I thought it posed an interesting alternative to the big names in consoles and was curious to see what it would have to offer once launched.
Anyway, after receiving a tracking number that didn’t seem to work at all the Ouya arrived at my office. To Ouya’s credit they did send out a follow up e-mail regarding the tracking number debacle but this was after it had arrived in my particular situation.
The Ouya itself is rather small – the size of an orange to be exact and packs in USB, micro-USB, HDMI and Ethernet ports. It’s also openly hackable without voiding your warranty which may appeal to those wanting to use the hardware for something other than gaming (XBMC has been mentioned a few times).
Enough of the high level details though – here’s the unboxing video!
FYI – the video will be available in up to 1080p (YouTube can take a little while to process the higher resolutions) if you right click on the video and choose “Watch on YouTube” and change the resolution setting.
