Just a short and sharp update for today 🙂
I’ve updated the Insider Guru blogs page with my latest article for Panasonic Australia after a small break. I share my experiences with our new fridge and cover off some of the key aspects that I reckon regular people would think about when choosing a new fridge for their kitchen.
While household appliances perhaps don’t get as much coverage as audio visual products, smartphones and tablets they are still worth keeping on the radar. One day, you may find yourself needing to replace an appliance when the magic smoke escapes from within or they start chewing up lots of electricity when it can no longer effectively do its job.

Enjoyed presentation on fridge wondering if you have power updates as we’ve just purchased one a month ago your video helped persuade us in purchase.

I haven’t yet removed the power meter from the electric socket used by the fridge but I’ll have a look when I get home and do the sums.

So I’ve had a look and for the nearly four months it has been in operation is has used just a shade over 100kWh when I looked this morning. This equates to around $25 to $33 depending upon how usage is apportioned to tariffs (if you don’t use much power then your energy usage may all fit in the Tier 1 tariff but if you use lots then it may end up being more).
However, your mileage may vary according to the environment in which your fridge resides. My fridge sits in a darker corner of the kitchen, never gets and direct sunlight with adequate ventilation and the door is primarily opened and closed in the morning and evenings. It’s still cheaper than the older and smaller fridge in terms of running costs which has been a huge plus for us.
Thanks for update took me a while to find it. Do you run on full auto we do have noticed in hot spell temp fluctuations other than that has been excellent. Thanks for info

Yes, the fridge has been left on its default settings since being plugged in – the only hiccup experienced was when the back of the fridge was nudging the plug out of the power socket but that’s not a product issue 🙂
