Audio Stuttering in Windows RT
I thought I would add my voice to the chorus of those concerned about audio stuttering in Windows RT particularly on the Microsoft Surface.
I stock up on video podcasts during the week and I have noticed that audio stuttering and choppy video playback when using various apps including the Microsoft video app. This becomes more problematic when the screen shuts off as it appears that audio processing is at the mercy of reduced CPU power.
At present, there doesn’t appear to be a proper solution for the problem (although I saw one site recommending doing a refresh to reset the settings back to defaults) so it looks like the ball is in Microsoft’s court to fix this issue properly. I am not certain if there was anything in the most recent updates that was supposed to fix this problem specifically but this is putting a bit of a dampener on my video podcast enjoyment.
That said, I was prepared for teething issues for a first generation product but I hope that a solution isn’t held off for too long.
