Windows 8 Start Screen and Multi-Monitor Support
Here’s something to keep in mind if you’re one of those people who uses multiple monitors and are looking to upgrade to Windows 8 in the future.
With the introduction of the new Start screen in Windows 8 it’s worth knowing that the Start screen will only work on one of your screens (the one set as the primary) while second and subsequent monitors will display the traditional Windows desktop. Despite what you might expect the Start screen doesn’t span multiple monitors so if you’ve got a setup with two or more identical monitors setup side by side (by side) then you’re not going to see one long continuous flow of live tiles.
It might come as a relief to some or a disappointment to others but that’s how the cards have fallen with Windows 8.
