Goodbye Google and Facebook
I know I haven’t written a lot lately but I have done a bit of a spring clean with the various plugins on this WordPress installation. Part of that clean up was to remove Google Analytics and Facebook integration from the site (I still have a plugin that adds shortcuts to this blog’s presence on other sites though but they otherwise benign).
Anyway, I’m not a huge fan of Google or Facebook these days – you as a user get little to no benefit from letting these sites know you visit this blog and I certainly get no tangible benefit either. Furthermore, savvy users will run various blockers that will stop connection to such services anyway, so I figured I would just save everyone the trouble and turn them off.

I love technology, gadgets, and the Internet and maintain a keen interest in these areas locally, nationally, and globally. I hope by sharing my views on these topics that people will receive an honest point of view from someone with a genuine interest in these topics.
