How to Open InPrivate Tabs in Metro Internet Explorer

InPrivate browsing has been around in Internet Explorer for desktop Internet Explorer for a while now but finding this functionality in the Metro-style Internet Explorer in Windows 8 or Windows RT may be a mystery. Fear not, as it is fairly straightforward.

When in Metro Internet Explorer do the following:

  1. Swipe down from the top of screen to reveal the tabs,
  2. Tap the ellipsis (“…”) under the plus (“+”) symbol off to the right,
  3. Tap New InPrivate Tab.

You can then identify which tabs are InPrivate ones as their tab preview in the list will say InPrivate in a blue rectangle in the bottom left corner.
