A lot of TF2 players out there would be used to the stock playing experience which has been the product of Valve carefully tweaking the traits of each class and weapons to maintain some sort of balance. However, you may want to experience something a little different.
One of my favorite TF2 servers is TF2 EXTREME run by Surf-Infamous which has been modded to within an inch of its life, including:
- instaspawn,
- 100% crits,
- multi-build (Engineers can build more than one sentry, dispenser and teleport entrances),
- quad jump for Scouts,
- additional overhealing by medics (Heavies can overheal up to a total of 600HP).
Accuracy and timing count for everything as pretty much one or two shots can send you packing back to spawn to start again. Medics become even more important but yet more vulnerable which makes protecting them prior to unleashing an ubercharge critical (no pun intended). The regulars on there will keep you on your toes while having a good laugh in the process. They also have forums, stats and a number of other servers for Counter-Strike as well if that floats your boat.
You can play on these servers for free but, if you like them, you’re encouraged to donate NZ$4 a month to help keep the lights out in return for VIP membership on the forums and servers. VIP membership entitles you to priority access to servers, the ability to use sprays, protection from being kicked for being AFK or if your ping is too high and other stuff. You can read more here.
