Do It Yourself – Menus on the Go
Here’s a quick tip for tonight.
Even though more and more restaurants and cafes are establishing their web presence these days they can often lack a menu. This can be a pain if you want to order some take away food but you want something other than the usual (if you happen to frequent a particular place quite often) or you are still unfamiliar with what they have to offer.
So, what can you do?
What tends to work for us is to grab a copy of the menu when I visit and scan the menus to PDF. I keep a copy of the menus on my iPad as a reference if we are in transit but I can also get direct access to the original PDFs on the home server at home or from work. Obviously, you need a scanner to make this work (or a camera and a pair of steady hands) but it’s a quick and easy way to save you rummaging around for paper menus while also cutting down on paper usage at the same time.
