Download Password Protected Online Videos

A while ago I recommended KeepVid as a great tool to download videos from popular video streaming sites including YouTube, DailyMotion, Google Video, Megavideo, Metacafe and Vimeo. However, KeepVid doesn’t work if the content is password protected or restricted in its ability for the general public to access it.

If you do need to download a copy of a video that is behind password protection then there is another solution.

The Ant.com Video Downloader does what you would expect given its name, download videos. It’s available as an extension for either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox and sits quietly as a toolbar icon. When you get to a page where you are able to download a video the icon should change to a little picture of a floppy disk allowing you to save the video. If it doesn’t change though then you might have to start playing back the video in order for this extension to detect the stream. This works even if you’ve had to provide a password in order to get to a video so you won’t miss out in that respect.

Saving is a snap – just click the disk icon and it will start downloading and you’re done and dusted!

good suggestions, I didn’t know about ant.com. audials one is also pretty good for downloading or recording videos and it removes drm protection as well. it’s worth a try as well from my point of view: http://audials.com/en/how_to_record_stream_capture_music_videos_movies_from/youtube.html
