Opt Out of Google Interest-based Advertising
Here’s a quick tip for tonight.
If you don’t fancy Google using its tracking cookies to work out what ads to show you (either for AdSense or DoubleClick based ads) in online searches and Google apps you can easily opt out of it with the click of a mouse button.
All you need to do is visit Google’s Advertising and Privacy page and click on the big “Opt out” button and then download the browser “opt-out” plug-in on the following page. You’ll need to do this for each browser and each computer that you use to make sure you are opted out everywhere.
Downloading the Cookie Opt-Out Plugin
Mind you, you’ll still see ads but you may find that their relevance to your browsing habits will decline.
