Another quick blog for tonight.
If you like scrabble but don’t feel like forking out for the paid app on your iOS device there is a similar version called “Words with Friends”. There is one difference compared to Scrabble (presumably to avoid litigation) which is the placement of the bonus tiles on the board (for instance, the corners aren’t the big end of town anymore).
The iPad version is quite satisfying as you can view the whole board without having to pan or zoom like you do on the iPhone or iPod Touch. You can also have up to twenty games going at the same time (if you are one of those folks that likes to keep busy) and optionally receive push notifications when it is your turn. There is also a built in chat function if you want to share you tales of woe regarding too many vowels in your tile rack or that you have no vowels at all
The free version of the game is great to get stuck into the game but you might find the advertising popping up after each turn annoying enough to shell out the few dollars for the ad-free version.
Anyway, if you want to have a game with me online just search for “Boydo” when starting a new game!
