Rotten Tomatoes – Your Online Film Guide

Have you found yourself spoilt for choice at the cinema and wanted to find out what is the best pick of the flicks? The missus and I have found ourselves in this situation many times, usually over lunch on the weekend or after work on Friday afternoon. Sometimes the previews don’t show a film in its best light whilst for others the trailer probably contains all of the best bits.

So what do you do?

Rotten Tomatoes is a great website where you can check out what both critics and the everyday person thinks of the latest movies. You can also browse the filmographies of your favourite actors along with a raft of statistics if you find that of interest. Also, if you are a budding movie critic, you can even add your own ratings and reviews to help others that may be interested in the film.

One thing that I like about Rotten Tomatoes is that it does a good job of keeping track of all of the movies you have seen over the years. Whilst you might not review the movies you have seen too often, it might help hone your ratings as you put things into perspective. You should find pretty much any movie you can think of on Rotten Tomatoes too (even foreign films that are show at independent cinemas).

One thing that people might be wondering about is an app for mobile devices. There was one for iPhone once upon a time but it was very slow. If you are out and about, you’ll have to make do with browsing the standard site on your mobile. That aside, you might find Rotten Tomatoes a great way to select a movie on your next trip to the cinema.
