Repair PunkBuster for Battlefield 3
So, I have been out of BF3 for a while given the story state of affairs I was in regarding 3D video performance but with the acquisition of a new EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Superclocked video card it is time to give it another go. However, upon firing it up I found that i was being kicked by PunkBuster due to a Service Communication Error.
I assumed this to be a problem with the server communicating with PunkBuster on my computer which seemed to be installed properly. At any rate, I decided that reinstalling PunkBuster would be the best course of attack and this is how you do it:
- Locate your Battlefield 3 folder,
- Browse through __Installer then punkbuster then redist,
- Double click pbsvc,
- Follow the options to install or repair PunkBuster,
That fixed the issue up for me in a jiffy 🙂
