Surface RT Firmware Update – Improved Device Waking
One minor gripe that I have had with the Surface RT is that it doesn’t always wake up reliably when you push the power button or Window button. This tends to happen most when the device has been left alone for longer periods of time allowing the device to go into a deeper sleep state compared to if you let it simply shut the screen off after timing out.
Not a huge deal given that you can push the button one or two more times and it will wake up but compared to an iPad it does take a little of the shine off the product.
Anyway, once I have charged up my Surface RT tablet I’ll install the latest firmware update that apparently addresses this problem and see how it goes. I’ll report back with my findings in a couple of weeks.
Stay tuned!
