Another Way to View Recent Earthquakes
Last year I wrote about a way to use Ifttt to get earthquake notifications on your mobile phone via SMS albeit after the fact. However, if you have a Wi-Fi tablet or a laptop this won’t be helpful particularly if you don’t hear message notifications on your phone.
Fortunately, you can bookmark this USGS webpage that updates with the latest earthquake reports and reference it when required. It will still work with your smartphone if you want to use it on such a device but it will give you some flexibility between having notifications pushed (via SMS) or pulled (via webpage) to you.
If this approach doesn’t take your fancy you can always find an app to do the same thing for you but it’s always good to have a choice 🙂
