Digital Radio – More Music, Less Chatter
Digital Audio Broadcasting or DAB/DAB+ is still attempting to get a foothold and supplant traditional analogue radio but here is something worth knowing if you love your music and prefer less of the inane chatter.
It seems that at least some of the digital audio stations that are currently broadcasting are for the most part devoid of advertising as well as radio hosts (love them or hate them). Compared to FM radio, you might think that you are practically stealing the music without all of those strings of commercials interfering with your listening pleasure.
Of course, you’ll need a digital radio in order to listen to digital broadcasts. More recent Hi-Fi systems will include digital radio functionality as will more recent vehicles such as the third generation Toyota Prius. Whilst you may not wish to change cars just for a digital radio it may be worth keeping in mind if you are in the market for a new one.
