Accessing the Rotating Lock in Windows RT
Another Windows RT tip which might be handy for those with a Microsoft Surface which annoying omits a hardware rotation lock switch.
All you need to do is the following:
- Slide in the charms bar from the right of screen and choose Settings (or hit Window + I),
- Tap the Screen icon,
- Above the screen brightness slider you will see the soft rotation lock toggle – tap it to lock or unlock the rotation as desired.
Unfortunately, a hardware rotation lock switch is not a mandatory part of the Windows RT device specification so if this is something you really need that often then you might want to look closely at the range of Windows RT tablets to make sure you are disappointed.
