Windows 8 – App Installation Error 0x80073D05
Here’s another quick tip fo Windows 8 users out there.
If you encounter error 0x80073D05 when attempting to download and install a Windows 8 app from the Windows 8 store there is a quick and simple fix.
Reboot and login with your full password (not a PIN or picture password).
At a glance, it looks as if this might have something to do with uninstalling an app and then attempting to reinstall it before its old application data has been removed. Rebooting forces a purge of the old application data and will allow the app installation to proceed unencumbered.

Hey, Ramon 🙂
Are you using a Microsoft account to login to your device? Also, are you using a desktop/laptop or a tablet?
I was having a problem with an APP and attempted uninstall/reinstall. Got the “0x80073d05. Signed in with password. Still have problem. I have a MSN account on a desktop and I sign in with the MSN password.
Translation:
I had the same problem on pc more messing around I managed to get. First you uninstall applications after you just go to the folder “C: \ Program Files \ WindowsApps” and delete the folder named “microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps ….” and reinstall the application of people ready.

I will give this a try if I run into this error again but something else for others to try!
I tried it and it stillis not working. Same error message. I am running 8.1 on Lenovo Hybrid…
This error is just one of many in Windows 8 Store that Microsoft has given up on fixing. It is possible that it will be fixed in 10, but who wants to start using 10 in its first year, when you will just be part of a test group? It is shameful that Microsoft has been so irresponsible with Windows, its core app, and it’s bad business, too. How many companies just give up on their core product?
