Here’s a quick tip if you want to muck around with the time lapse recording function on the Panasonic X900M camcorder.
Out of the box, you can’t use time lapse recording as the option is greyed out in the record setup screen. This is because you need to change the zoom mode from the default of i.Zoom 23x (intelligent zoom) to Opt.Zoom 12x (optical zoom). You can change this setting as follows:
- Tap the two outward point arrows in the bottom left of the touchscreen,
- Tap Menu,
- Tap Record Setup,
- Tap Zoom Mode,
- Tap Opt.Zoom 12x at the top of the menu,
- Tap the back button at the bottom of the screen.
- 1 second,
- 10 seconds,
- 30 seconds,
- 1 minute,
- 2 minutes.
- HA 1920,
- HG 1920,
- HX 1920,
- HE 1920.
Essentially, anything except 1080/50p and iFrame will get you on the right track. Anyway, I might have a play with this and see what sort of cool videos I can capture 🙂
