The larger sibling to the original Nintendo 3DS just hit the shelves yesterday and I just couldn’t help myself from getting one. However, that left me in a situation where I would have two 3DS consoles when I really only needed one so I decided to trade in my original Nintendo 3DS to take care of that problem.
EB Games have an offer going whereby if you trade in your original Nintendo 3DS and purchase New Super Mario Bros 2 you can seal the deal at $99 (compared to $129 if you just want to trade in your Nintendo 3DS without buying a game). As I had already bought New Super Mario Bros 2 last weekend I decided to have that refunded and bundled in with the trade in.
I’m sure there are other good or better deals out there but I was happy to be able to at least keep my device count static (which reminds me that I have to sell off a couple of old smartphones). Anyway, EB Games are kindly allowing customers a week to perform a system transfer before parting with their Nintendo 3DS so stay tuned for the “how to” video that will take you though the steps required to complete that task.
Anyway, here is the unboxing and preview video of the Nintendo 3DS XL for your viewing pleasure. I show you what is in the box, compare the 3DS XL against the standard 3DS to give you an idea of its size and have a quick look around the device itself
FYI – the video will be available in up to 1080p (YouTube can take a little while to process the higher resolutions) if you right click on the video and choose “Watch on YouTube” and change the resolution setting. Stay tuned for the review video!
