Quickly Apply Filters When Browsing Files
Despite the lengths some of us go to organise our files and folders there can be times when we do end up with folders containing a huge amount of files. Sometimes these files will be all the same file type (like documents and spreadsheets) or they may be a mix of anything and everything. Anyway, there is a quick way to narrow down the displayed files while you are browsing for them from within an application in Windows.
For instance, this is what my file browser window looks like when I am uploading icons and logos from my network to the blog:

For instance, if I wanted to filter by anything mentioning “Mac” in the filename I would type the following in the file name:
*Mac*
… which would result in the following:
File Browsing (Filtered)
It’s a quick and simple way to narrow things down if things are a little too busy on screen for you.
