Noise-Cancelling Headphones and a Lack of Audio Output
The obvious joke that you could take away from reading the title would be that your noise cancelling headphones might be working too well and are blocking everything including the audio you want to hear – trust me that this isn’t the case for this article 🙂
Noise-cancelling headphones and earphones do require power to work their magic (be it from a battery or from another energy source). Unfortunately, when the battery runs out you can be left in the following situations:
- when the headphones/earphones are switched on no audio is output but work when switched off (but you lose noise-cancellation),
- when the headphones/earphones are switched on or off no audio is output.
The behaviour of various brands and models of noise-cancelling headphones/earphones can vary but it is something to keep in mind when you are trying to listen to some music from your favourite audio devices and there is no sound.
