Workarounds for iPhone and Daylight Savings
After seeing some complaints from family and friends about woes with the iPhone and alarms going off an hour early after daylight savings began on the weekend. Until Apple pulls its finger out and releases a fix there are a couple of things you can do in the meantime.
- Use one off alarms (which sucks as you have to remember to turn it back on every time you want to use it),
- Continue to use repeat alarms but set them one hour after you actually require them (cancelling out the effect of the alarm occurring an hour earlier than anticipated).
I’m sure one of the two options will get you by until Apple releases its next update. Companies spend a significant amount of time and effort ensuring that daylight saving transitions go smoothly so it is rather disappointing that such Apple let a problem like this slip through the net.
