A while ago I unboxed the Panasonic HC-X900M camcorder as well as the VW-CLT2 3D lens and this time around I am unboxing the latest flagship consumer camcorder from Panasonic in the form of the HX-X920M
The X920M boasts improved sensor technology with Panasonic’s 3MOS System Pro and BSI (Back Side Illumination) technology which reduces noise by 50% over the standard 3MOS System in the X900M as well as boosting the already excellent low light performance. Also, like the 2012 model, the X920M is capable of 3D video recording and 3D video can be played back on the camcorder itself without the need for 3D glasses.
New features for this year include:
- remote control from an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet using the new Panasonic image app,
- built-in Wi-Fi (802.11bgn @ 2.4GHz),
- home monitoring mode (to shoot video when movement is detected in front of it for a limited period of time),
- live internet streaming via Ustream (which I would find handy for checking on the dogs remotely during the day whilst at work).
Anyway, here’s the unboxing video and stay tuned for more videos on this camcorder!
FYI – the video will be available in up to 1080p (YouTube can take a little while to process the higher resolutions) if you right click on the video and choose “Watch on YouTube” and change the resolution setting.
