Here’s quick tip for this evening.
eBay used to be a good place to pick up a good bargain but these days bidders can get a bit trigger happy sending items beyond what some of us consider to be worthwhile. Admittedly, such is the nature of online auctions but there is something else you can do that might help you unearth those bargains.
One thing you can try doing is by dropping certain descriptors of the item when searching. For example, if you are after a Samsung Galaxy S II then you might try looking for “Samsung Galaxy” or “Samsung Galaxy S” instead. This does mean you will end up with more results in the search but with some careful sifting you might find the S II model listed with a typo. Other items may have alternate spellings so by making your search more generic may help capture those in the search results.
Another example might be the RevoDrive 3 X2 (a model of solid state drive). Searching for “RevoDrive” or “RevoDrive 3” may unearth results not covered by “RevoDrive 3 X2” or other variants.
You might not always find that elusive bargain but at least you have covered off the possibility of an auction with a typo wrapping up without a bid then being relisted with the correct details.
