Just a quick heads up for this evening.
Many of us use broadband in Australia these days at home and on the move and with a service that keeps us socially and informatively connected with our family, friends and colleagues we are bound to have an opinion on the standard and quality of the service provided. Sometimes we get a chance to provide feedback when contacting the provider or when we are sent a random survey to complete. Depending on your point of view and situation this could either be constructive or a dead end.
Well, now you can have your say in an independent survey.
On an annual basis, Whirlpool conducts a survey on the state of broadband services in Australia across the various ISPs that exist in the market. The information is then analysed and a summarised report created covering the results. If you’re interested you can see the result for the survey held for 2009 here. Questions cover a variety of areas such as the signup process, customer care, service reliability, hardware, plans as well as topical subjects such as the proposed mandatory filtering of web content.
This year, there are eleven pages to fill in and shouldn’t take more than about ten to fifteen minutes to complete. I encourage you all to spend the small amount of time to fill it in thoughtfully and honestly as it will be interesting to see how the results fare against last year and how it compares to future years when the NBN comes into play.
