A couple years ago I unboxed the original Fitbit after having it shipped out from the USA given that you couldn’t buy one locally. It has served me well but after going through three plastic clips which broke, losing it overnight and finding it again as well as surviving a session in the washing machine (oops).
It has definitely seen better days but has gone the distance – almost three thousand kilometres!
Unfortunately for me, I don’t have a smartphone or tablet capable of syncing with the Fitbit while on the go but given that I haven’t been doing so to date I am not in any worse position. However, it is rumoured that Android 4.3 will natively support Bluetooth 4.0 and the Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE) capability so fingers crossed there.
Anyway, with any new gadget there comes the opportunity to unbox it so here is my latest unboxing video for you. I also do a quick comparison against the original Fitbit.
FYI – the video will be available in up to 1080p (YouTube can take a little while to process the higher resolutions) if you right click on the video and choose “Watch on YouTube” and change the resolution setting.
Stay tuned for the review!
