How to Scan QR Codes with Windows Phone 8
QR codes are startng to get going in Australia in all sorts of places such as billboards, newspapers and magazines. Of course, in order to take advantage of these you’ll need a smartphone to read them.
Under Windows Phone 8, it may not be apparent but you can scan QR codes without the need for any additional apps. All you need to do is:
- Tap the Search button (the button to the right of the Windows button,
- Tap the eye icon,
- Scan your code.

You can even browse a history of scanned barcodes whilst you’re at it so you don’t have to immediately use the QR code output if it isn’t convenient.
