Twitter for Mac OS X Finally Receives an Update
Another quick update.
If you’ve been using Twitter for Mac OS X you may have been wondering where the updates have been for the official client. In particular, the lack of Retina display support may have been discouraging people from using the official client.
Anyway, the latest version of the official Twitter client is now available in the Mac App Store here. It also supports a stack of new languages which is a bonus for those in non-English speaking countries.
However, it is bleedingly obvious that Twitter is far more interested in its website and mobile clients than traditional desktop client despite buying up popular clients such as TweetDeck and letting them wither away. It’s a shame but it points to the fact that Twitter is keen to monetise its service through promoted tweets and other methods.
