See What You’re Typing in Telnet
Here’s a quick telnet tip.
When you use telnet under Windows by default you won’t be able to see what you’re typing. This can be problematic if you’re doing lots of typing and you need to spot errors.
What you need to do is enable local echo in telnet before you start using it and you can do it as follows:
- Hit Window key + R,
- Type in telnet and press Enter,
- Type set localecho and press Enter,
- Type quit and press Enter.
That will enable local echo and save the settings for future sessions.
