Quickly Change Tabs in Chrome Beta for Android
There is one thing that bugs me about the way tabs are managed in Safari on iPhone and iPad and it’s the way that you have to go through a menu to get to the tab you want. From a usability perspective, you need to stop what you are doing, work out where you want to go and then continue on. It’d be great to have an option to simply swipe back and forth between tabs (particularly if a tab was opened by a link on an adjacent tab).
Thankfully, this feature is implemented in Chrome Beta for Android.
Usually, swiping the screen left or right in Chrome will pan you around the webpage but if you swipe in from the left or right from the edge of the device onto the screen you will be able to flick between tabs fairly easily. Of course, if you like the alternate method of tab management via the menu you still have that choice.
It almost makes you wonder why Apple didn’t implement this first?
