Quickly and Safely Recover Loose Screws and Headers
Here’s a tip that might come in handy if you disassemble and reassemble computers or other gadgets.
Sometimes, despite your best care and efforts, you might drop a screw, a header or some other tiny object you can spend quite some time trying to find that object on the floor. It can be harder still depending upon the ground surface with carpet and concrete potentially concealing or camouflaging the lost item if the colour is close.
Anyway, one thing you can try is getting the trusty vacuum cleaner and putting something on the end of it to act as a filter such as a pair of pantyhose (if the lady of the house is happy to donate a pair). It’s fine enough to allow air through it while being able to catch those tiny bits and pieces you are trying to find.
Hopefully, you won’t need to do this too often but it’s worth remembering just in case one of those tiny components are critical to reassembling a particular gadget.
