A quick update to let you know about another incoming gadget.
I’ve been looking at upgrading to a larger solid state drive given my current 128GB SSD (Patriot) is somewhat limiting for Windows and applications. I’ve recently sold some excess stuff and thought I could reinvest some of the money in a new bit of kit for my desktop computer to extend its life a bit more (currently around three years old and it still cuts the mustard). I also wanted to make a decent upgrade as well as I’m not a fan of upgrading to something if there aren’t significant benefits.
Significant might be a bit of an understatement in this case.
I’ve done my research and I have ordered an OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 solid state drive (240GB model). I’m not going to give too much away about it just yet but this is not your standard SSD. Probably the most significant difference is that it is a PCI Express SSD which enables some incredibly crazy performance compared to standard SATA SSDs.
As always, stay tuned – this may be one extreme SSD.
