Deleting Files and Folders with Very Long Path Names
Here’s a quick tip for tonight.
On the rare occasion, you might create a file that has a combined folder and filename path that is too long for the file system to address. In these situations, when you attempt to delete such files you’ll get errors stating that the filename is too long without any options to correct the problem.
A simple solution to this is to map a network drive to a parent folder of the file(s) in question and then delete the files that way. By mapping a network drive to the folder you will hopefully shorten the path enough to be able to delete the offending files and/or folders in a jiffy.
