Some of us may have regrets of posting a message on one or more social media websites after having had a big night on the grog. Whilst I don’t drink (and as a result don’t have this particular issue) I can possibly see some merit in a sobriety test for social media sites for those who like enjoy a good drinking session with friends.
Webroot software has come up with a solution for Firefox that may go some way to stopping those drunken posts which might cause you issues later on.
All you need to do is download and install the add-on then configure the sites for which you want protection as well as the times between which you want to be protected. You can even add URLs for other sites not covered in the default list.
One drawback of such a solution is that unless it is installed in all browsers and on all devices with access to social networking sites then there is a risk that an unintended comment can still make it through. The sobriety test is available for Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari but it does not cover usage from smartphones or other computers where the software is not installed.
It’s an interesting idea but could perhaps become annoying for everyone except those who perhaps drink more than they should in which case they should probably be taken through a process of intervention by friends and family.
