{"id":6638,"date":"2015-01-09T19:01:12","date_gmt":"2015-01-09T08:01:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mingersoft.com\/blog\/?p=6638"},"modified":"2015-01-09T19:01:12","modified_gmt":"2015-01-09T08:01:12","slug":"new-nintendo-3ds-xl-unboxing-preview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mingersoft.com\/blog\/2015\/01\/new-nintendo-3ds-xl-unboxing-preview\/","title":{"rendered":"New Nintendo 3DS XL Unboxing &#038; Preview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a while since I&#8217;ve written regularly but I am back!<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, to kick things off again I want to share an unboxing of the latest refresh of Nintendo&#8217;s handheld console in the form of the New Nintendo 3DS XL.<\/p>\n<p>I had a whole stack of vouchers that I had collected during the year\u00a0which made the upgrade relatively cheap but there were two\u00a0features that really clinched the deal for me, specifically:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>the faster\u00a0CPU which is great for more demanding games like Super Smash Brothers as the loading times can be longer than preferred for a cartridge-based system, and<\/li>\n<li>the super stable 3D capability which uses face tracking to lock\u00a0the 3D effect \u00a0to your line of sight as the console moves.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>There are other improved aspects such as faster Wi-Fi speeds and NFC but those were\u00a0secondary considerations in my decision to purchase.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, here is\u00a0the unboxing and preview video here:<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"760\" height=\"452\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/clN7g1fz-Xo\" frameborder=\"0\" type=\"text\/html\"><\/iframe>\n<p>I&#8217;ll share my thoughts on it once I have some more game time under my belt but I have certainly enjoyed playing Ultimate NES Remix on it\u00a0to relive some classic 8-bit gaming.
