The operating system on the MacBook Air had been upgraded to Mac OS X 10.9 (AKA Mavericks) a while ago but this problem seemed to only manifest itself earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>The problem is a bit perplexing and despite attempting to force SMB 1.0 on the MacBook Air there has been no success.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I am trying to find a solution without having to rollback the upgrade on the MacBook Air with options currently including:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>forcing the home server to use SMB 1.0 (but this impacts all devices),<\/li>\n<li>Using an application called SMBUp on the MacBook Air to potentially bypass the issue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I&#8217;ll let you know how I go!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, my wife and I had a rude surprise today when her MacBook Air would no longer connect to our Windows Home Server.
