This can take up a lot of space particularly on smaller solid state drives where available capacity can be at a premium.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to remove the Windows.Old folder properly then this how:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the Start Screen,<\/li>\n<li>Type in <b>free up disk space<\/b>,<\/li>\n<li>Select the options that says\u00a0<strong>Free up disk space by deleting unnecessary files<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that C: is selected and click\u00a0<strong>OK,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>After the initial scan, click the <strong>Clean up system files\u00a0<\/strong>button,<\/li>\n<li>On the next screen, select the following options:\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Previous Windows installation(s)<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Windows upgrade logs<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Simply wait for the process to finish and you should have recovered some extra disk space.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s a tip if you&#8217;ve upgraded to Windows 8.1.
