This is something you would need to keep until next election but the ABC in Australia ran Twitter bots allowing people to query and obtain live results for each seat with a direct link to more detailed results on the ABC website. I thought this was pretty cool even though I am at home with the election coverage going on the television and my computer. The main problem with television coverage is that they tend to provide more coverage to marginal seats and seats with higher profile candidates or sitting members. If you happen to be in a relatively safe seat then you probably won’t get to see what the results are unless something major is going on. It also doesn’t help when you are not near a television and, if you fall back to the good old radio, you are in the same situation all over again except that you obviously have no video. Anyway, a good number of people these days have a Twitter account so what you can do is send a tweet to @ABCElections<\/a>\u00a0asking stuff like “What is going on in Bennelong?”<\/p>\n
