Usually, Windows 7 and Windows 8 will set things up automatically but there could be times when it doesn&#8217;t work as planned.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, here&#8217;s what you do:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the Start Menu \/ Start Screen,<\/li>\n<li>Type in <strong>cmd<\/strong> and then hold down <strong>Control<\/strong> and <strong>Shift<\/strong> then hit <strong>Enter<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>Accept the elevation prompt,<\/li>\n<li>Type in <strong>fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify<\/strong> and hit <strong>Enter<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If TRIM is enabled, you should see the following result:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>DisableDeleteNotify = 0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Otherwise, any other result means you don&#8217;t have TRIM enabled.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another quick tip regarding TRIM which has been mentioned a few times on the blog recently.
