Obviously, it&#8217;s also worth knowing how to use the backup if you do wipe the recovery partition from your tablet &#8211; so here&#8217;s how:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 11.988636016845703px;\">Power off the Surface,<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Plug in the USB flash drive,<\/li>\n<li>While holding down the volume down button push down the power button briefly and then release it,<\/li>\n<li>After about a minute the Surface should boot from the USB flash drive (depending upon its speed).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>From there, just follow the setup wizard to recover your Surface \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, I provided the instructions on how to copy the backup partition in a Microsoft Surface on to a USB flash drive.
