For whatever reason, you may need to disable or re-enable the auto-complete function in Outlook but locating the setting can be difficult as it differs between the various versions. As such, I thought I would consolidate the methods to re-enable this feature for each version of Outlook:<\/p>\n

Outlook 2003\/2007<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Click\u00a0Tools<\/strong>,<\/li>\n
  2. Click\u00a0Options<\/strong>,<\/li>\n
  3. On the Preferences<\/strong> tab click the\u00a0E-mail Options<\/strong> button,<\/li>\n
  4. Click the\u00a0Advanced E-mail Options<\/strong> button,<\/li>\n
  5. Tick the option Suggest names while completing the To, Cc and Bcc fields<\/strong>\u00a0to enable the option (or untick to disable).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Outlook 2010<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Click the\u00a0File<\/strong>\u00a0tab up the top,<\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. Click\u00a0Options<\/strong> towards the bottom of the menu,<\/li>\n
    3. Click\u00a0Mail<\/strong> in the left side menu,<\/li>\n
    4. Scroll halfway down to the\u00a0Send Messages<\/strong> section,<\/li>\n
    5. Tick the option\u00a0Use Auto-Complete List to suggest names when typing in the To, Cc and Bcc lines<\/strong>\u00a0to enable the option (or untick to disable).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
