Here’s another Windows 8 tip.<\/p>\n

With prior versions of Windows you would normally require third party software in order to mount ISO files as a native drive in Windows Explorer. This changes in Windows 8 with its ability to mount ISOs without additional software.<\/p>\n

All you need to do is the following:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Locate the desired ISO file,<\/li>\n
  2. Right click the file,<\/li>\n
  3. Click on “Mount”,<\/li>\n
  4. The ISO file should appear as a new drive in Windows Explorer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Mind you, this will only work for ISO files stored on your computer and not ISO files stored on a network location.<\/p>\n

    Of course, if you unmount an ISO file you simply need eject it by doing the following:<\/p>\n

    1. Locate the desired drive,<\/li>\n
    2. Right click the drive,<\/li>\n
    3. Click on “Eject”,<\/li>\n
    4. The drive should then disappear.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
