If you are a user of Hotmail and Windows 7 then you might find this little tip rather handy.<\/p>\n

Some websites offer extended functionality if you pin them to the taskbar in Windows 7 such as Facebook<\/a>\u00a0so it is good to see that Hotmail gives you a convenient way to see if there are any new messages waiting without continually checking the browser tab or window.<\/p>\n

It does bring the web interface for Hotmail a step closer to replicating the functionality of a full thick client like Microsoft Office Outlook so long as you are using Internet Explorer 9 (or later).<\/p>\n

To get this functionality, when logged into Hotmail just drag the tab in Internet Explorer down to the taskbar and that will pin it so it won’t disappear.
